Sibiu City Hall has signed a contract with bus manufacturer BMC Truck & Bus from Ciorogârla, Ilfov, worth 10.5 million lei (approximately 2.2 million euros) for the purchase of 10 City Bus Diamond buses.
The buses are 12 meters long, have three doors, a Euro 6 engine produced by Daimler (owner of the Mercedes Benz brand), as well as a low floor and a special ramp for wheelchair access, according to a press release from Sibiu City Hall.
The buses have a seating capacity of 28 and can accommodate 73 standing passengers, including space for a wheelchair. The new vehicles are equipped with GPS, allowing real-time monitoring on routes, and for passenger safety, they are fitted with 6 surveillance cameras. The 10 buses will join the Tursib fleet, which was renewed at the end of last year with 55 buses.
BMC Truck & Bus, based in Ciorogârla, Ilfov, was founded in 2002 as the sole distributor in Romania of BMC vehicles, produced in Turkey. Since 2013, the company has begun manufacturing Eurobus Diamond buses.
